37 - Oh my Gourd! one of a kind watercolour
Some of the picture titles I considered were:
Gift of the gourds.
The final title, Oh my Gourd! was offered by Facebook bold soul :)
So much potential for hilarity! :D
This past Autumn my clever gardening friend offered me these almost alien looking cucurbits (cucumber, pumpkin etc family) she'd grown. I loved them as a still life with this checked and spotted fabric, making a lumpy, happy composition of yellow, blue and green.
This piece is a joyfully vibrant one for your kitchen nook, dining room or in the lobby of your cooking school, to evoke the crazy goodness of home grown dinosaurs!
One of a Kind Watercolour paintings are 100% original and unique paintings. If you love owning and/or gifting bold art pieces that you know for sure no one else will have, these are for you.
I create the hand-drawn lines with light-fast water-resistant Art Spectrum ink and an old-fashioned 'dip pen'. Once I’ve created the lines, I do all my colouring with Winsor and Newton Artists’ Watercolours. When creating my original art, I use archival quality watercolour paper. Usually it's 100% cotton Arches paper from France, otherwise it's another most excellent cotton, archival watercolour paper.
This image is about 21 cm wide x 32 cm high (9" x 12.5") and the paper itself has ample room for framing with a window mount! Framing adds around 10 - 12cm (4") on all sides, more at the bottom.
I recommend ordering Unframed if it's coming to you via the postal service/s - this saves us both money on postage, minimises the risk of damage, and gives you the chance to support a local framing artisan, too.
If you meet me at a market stall to pick up, I can arrange professional framing for you in about 2-3 weeks.
PS If this is already Sold Out, join my mailing list to hear first about the next painting (and get member deals, Tangerine Treasury and free Studio eLetters each month)!
