Bottle with bottlebrush - one of a kind watercolour
My lovely neighbour brought a sprig of soft pink bottlebrush. It spoke, " ... pop me into a red glass vase, Meg, and see how the light hits us!" The patterned quilt (a gift from another friend) is a sunny companion, brightly supporting the bottlebrush at the front of the 'stage'.
I've been keen to make some Australian flower pictures, in my own way - this is the first of an ongoing series! If you like the idea of vibrant, gentle Australian flower art for your home, this might be for you!
If this is sold out (there's just the one!) join my mailing list to hear first about the next painting!
One of a Kind Watercolour paintings are 100% original and unique paintings. If you love owning and/or gifting bold art pieces that you know for sure no one else will have, these are for you.
I create the hand-drawn lines with light-fast water-resistant Art Spectrum ink and an old-fashioned 'dip pen'. Once I’ve created the lines, I do all my colouring with Winsor and Newton Artists’ Watercolours. When creating my original art, I use archival quality watercolour paper. Usually it's 100% cotton Arches paper from France, otherwise it's another most excellent cotton, archival watercolour paper.
This image is about 21 cm wide x 32 cm high (9" x 12.5") and the paper itself has ample room for framing with a window mount! Framing adds around 10 - 12cm (4") on all sides, more at the bottom.
I recommend ordering Unframed if it's coming to you via the postal service/s - this saves us both money on postage, and gives you the chance to support a local framing artisan, too.
If you meet me at a market stall to pick up, I can arrange professional framing for you for around +$125, within 2-3 weeks.
